Progress continues

I'm making lots more progress in the past few weeks than I have in the past year. Having links of all the tricks that interest me in one place really helps. When I get bored I click through them until I find something that I can at least strart to wrap my head around at the moment. Last night I added four moves to the ones I'm actively working on: Circular Slides, 360 linear Isolation, Waistwrap Weave and 3-Beat Weave. Combinations are coming more naturally and Gary says that my flow is getting stronger. More practice in larger spaces would help. Now that things have slowed down a bit at work, I'll be more likely to make it out to the Haw River Ballroom Sunday jams on a regular basis. Looking forward to more outdoor hooping in the Fall.

In the meantime, I'm feeling closer to being able to buckle down on some simple choreography for a Halloween group piece. First choose the tune - fun or spooky/mystical. Block off in lyrical sections, then block out movements for each section. Then test-drive it, then find a few other people interested enough to practice. Three people will make it interesting. More than that would be harder to coordinate. I've already got one other person interested and plus two other possibles. OK. Back to work....
