So, I've been at Uni for four days now, and I still can't get the hang of this party every night stay up 'til 6 then get up at 8 for breakfast attitude that everyone else seems to have mastered... I have to keep sneaking naps throughout the day so I don't collapse of sleep deprivation!
Finally got the internet sorted on Sunday afternoon, after having to download virus software 37 times before it worked! Then realised that going on the internet and looking on FB at all the comments people had left me asking if I was having a good time made me REALLY homesick (which is weird, because I've only ever been homesick once before and that was in Year 5 when I thought the place we were staying in on a residential trip was haunted...) and I just ended up crying on Oonagh in the kitchen, which was definitely a novel way of making friends...
So Andy, and Laura, if you're reading this, I keep meaning to write you replies to comments from ages ago, but life keeps being annoying and getting in the way! Expect a reply at some point though, you will get one eventually!
I think one of the reasons I felt homesick, on Sunday at least, was because although they all seem really nice, the girls in the rooms directly around me (yes I'm on an all-girls floor, no I definitely did not choose that) are all the sort of girls who have dyed blonde hair and orange faces, enough clothes to dress a village, but none of them long enough to actually cover more than just their bum (God I sound like an old woman!), and I really didn't think I was gonna have anything in common with them at all... Then I met some of the girls from down the other end of the corridor and realised that I was overreacting a tad - there were other people down the hall who didn't have a problem with wearing jeans and hoodies! And then last night we went downstairs and made friends with a couple of the guys, went to the Carnibar, had a couple of drinks, me and Jake decided we were hungry so went back to the halls and hung out in the kitchen eating marmite on toast and drinking tea! It was good times! (Although I would have quite liked to go to the silent disco, but c'est la vie!)
I can't think of what else I was going to say... Oh well!
friends,
bad day,
