I went downtown for my first haircut in a year today.
While walking to the hair salon, I passed a dark-skinned man dressed all in black with the most impressive Fedora. Being that I was wearing one myself, I opened my mouth to compliment his, but he quickly sped past me, obviously in a rush.
I shrugged it off and continued on.
When I arrived at the salon minutes later, the hair dresser, an Asian man with a talkative disposition, was busy with another client, so I went to the lobby portion to sit down and read a magazine.
Being engrossed in my magazine, only when I heard a voice from behind the counter did I realize someone was there. I looked up and the first thing I saw was the Fedora.
Guess our paths had crossed again.
The guy I had passed on the street ended up being the guy dying my hair and he was the most interesting hairstylist I had ever had. We talked about the things wrong with society, the unnatural world we've become, books, movies and Britney Spears.
He ended up recommending lots of books and movies to me; he was great. :D
I then got my haircut from the Asian man, named Ty.
He was amazing, too. He told me about his wife who he brought from Thailand and when I told him I might be sewing my own dress for prom, he said his wife could help me with anything I needed.
Amazing.
I think it was the most enjoyable trip to the salon I've ever had.
And now I have what was supposed to be purple, but turned out dark red-brown hair. :)
