pregnancy silliness

So during labor, you're supposed to be making low noises rather than high pitched ones as the former supposedly help in opening the cervix and the latter close things up. So all my cute sounds that I usually make with mavjop (mews, keens, etc) have gone down probably 3 octaves in order to help me "open up" which he finds terribly amusing. Well, this leads to attempting to sing along with music in lower octaves as well. Of course, there's music already in nice low octaves, and sometimes one of those songs gets in my head.. and I start to make up words.

Today's made-up song involved Du Hast and instead I was singing "Du hast Tee" because we'd just gone out for bubble tea and he'd left it on the kitchen counter partially drunk.. so I was singing "Du hast Tee getrunk..."

Finally went to Mayflower in Union City for dim sum. We went around 2:30 so we were luckily able to find parking and get in with no wait. And we got in at just the right time as it looked like it was the last round of dim sum. We didn't order anything special since there wasn't anything special available. Just got chau siu bao, ha gau, siu mai, nor mai gai, and dan tat. The nor mai gai was well cooked, but a little on the less flavored side. The siu mai tasted good. The noodle wrap on the ha gau was wonderful and I wanted more noodles, but didn't get the chance for them. The chau siu bao was a little damp, but had nice big chunks of chau siu inside and was tasty. The dan tat was good. *I* liked it, and I only like the one in SF Chinatown. Not eggy. Wonderfully flaky crust. The siu mai and ha gau were both large pieces, much larger than usual ones. We took half the food to go as it was only the two of us there.

During earlier dim sum times, the line is really backed up. Probably little to no chance of getting in early during those times, or even bothering to fight the crowd to sign in with a pregnant belly. The decor is rather nice. It appears to be tasteful and decorative without being ostentatious. There are some painted wooden murals and chandeliers that aren't crystal. The floor has a nice swirling pattern and the paint appears to be within the past 10 years.
