Notes: These two are unexpected bros, considering Dave is a coolkid and John is a derpy nerd. His sincerity and relative innocence are part of the reason for such a tight bond, but it's also because Dave feels a little more relaxed around him. John is one of a select, rare few he'll defend until the end. Not getting terribly close to people can do that. But, now that they're not in Sburb, he feels like they can finally get some more bro-time, maybe a bit like what they used to before all that bullshit.
Eventually, he managed to tell John about his bisexuality, and helped to orchestrate a Sex Education class for him. Yet, at the end of the Rabbit Doubt event, he hasn't been able to forgive himself for the cruelness he had done to his best friend. His feelings of resentment and jealousy buried deep in his heart were also revealed, both during and after.

Notes: Jade is another person that's hard to hate. Dave enjoys talking to her and generally hanging out with her. If she cries, he won't be able to stand it. Like with John, he'll defend Jade until the end, and won't easily forgive anyone who hurts the derps. They're two of his closest friends, and he's not giving that up easily. Jade and John are much too precious to him, even if he'll never say it in so many words.
After the Rabbit Doubt event, Dave has yet to forgive himself for taking her life like that.

Notes: Bro is someone Dave will forever think highly of. He doesn't care if technically he's his dad or adopted or whatever. All he's ever been to Dave is a big brother. Even if he would have liked to have parents, Dave considers having just Bro to be perfect in his life. He loves Bro, and he's all he's ever needed in a family. As much as Dave doesn't want to admit it, his brother's death had devastated him, but at the time he couldn't think about it due to more important matters than grief.
Dave also isn't sure what to think after almost killing him in the Rabbit Doubt event.

Notes: Terezi is someone Dave can be relaxed around. She's seen everything in his life, as creepy as it was at first. Still, after getting to know her better, he can confidently rank her as on par with John, Jade, and Rose. The only difference is that he's a little more open with her.
Now that he's moirails with her, he can relax a little more. He knows he has to work hard at this to understand it as best he can, but Dave's confident it can work. Besides, it's not like he can ask Jade or John or even Rose to kill him if he goes psycho again.
