Even if we did argue a little bit here and there, sitting in a lounge chair by the water watching the sunset at the end of December was the perfect way to close out 2009. I love how this break went. It might be one of my favorite ones yet. There was a perfect mix of all of my favorite things.
Now it feels weird to go to sleep in an empty room and not hear arguing about snoring, or playing "I Spy" in the dark, but it was so good while it lasted. All of the break, the volunteering, family time, hanging out with the guys, basketball games, roadtrips, caroling, reading for fun, all of it couldn't have been better.
Here's to 2010.
