Hi Luke,
I am very happy to be able to tell you that you will soon receive an
official letter from us offering you admission and full funding for the
Religious Studies PhD program at Penn.
This email is to ask you if you will be able to visit us March 18-19,
when the other two people we have accepted will also, we hope, be
visiting. We think you might enjoy meeting each other and knowing who
your likely classmates would be, and we think it is very important for
all prospective students to get to know us, and our competition, in
person.
We have a small budget for your travel expenses. Hopefully Southwest
is still flying between Philadelphia and Manchester, for that would
make it easier for you than flying out o Boston. We try to have
visiting prospective students stay with current grad students whenever
possible, if you have no objection.
Please let me know if the idea of a visit appeals to you and if you can
make it on those dates.
