So during work this week, Glen (a coworker a year older than me, and even more bug-crazy than Jane, if that is possible) and I went to the woods in search of some Bess beetles (ours are, well, deceased, as happens sometimes). In the course of this, I managed to get about 50 mosquito bites and sadly even more chigger bites in the worst places. So over the past couple of days I was taking some mass doses of Benadryl to keep my allergic reactions to such bites down (the swelling, itching, and other nasty symptoms I get). This, sadly, meant that I was a zombie, even when driving for an hour on the highway! Poor Steve got calls from me that were basically "Hi, how are you? I'm ok....silence" But, I'm much better now! I'm off the meds, and only doing hydrocortizone, and the bites (some) are almost gone. Wheeee! Although, this experience has taught me to beware of medicines that cause drowsiness...apparently they also cause me a bit of depression. Eep!
