Urban Nature Pictures day 14

Parallel goose and human tracks on Jamaica Pond.

Interesting day today. The article about the Muddy River project was in the Tab. We get it delivered to our building even though no one subscribes to it. I pulled out the section with the article and brought it in. Decent picture of me (I think cottonmanifesto is going to post it as her pic of the day) and a pretty good article. It's nice but kind of embarrassing--of all the times I've been in the newspaper (this makes 4), this is the least exciting thing I've been doing at the time. Funny thing is, at the other times I felt like I needed to capitalize on the publicity somehow, and it just didn't pan out. This time I'm more relaxed about it and it's just a nice curiosity--I've dropped most of my hopes of making a career out of my creative life. But then again, I have submitted a selection of the photos to an art exhibit at town hall...

Then when I came back from lunch my coworkers started congratulating me. But not because of the article, but because the results of the AAZK election were emailed to everyone, and now I'm vice president of our local chapter.
