Alexis and the dogs and I went to
Cochituate State Park in Natick, although I think we wandered onto the grounds of the Wayland Town Beach. Charlie got in his first good swim of the year.
Lake Cochituate is relatively late-formed and large glacial kettle. Charlie is at far left in this panorama.
Combined efforts of ants and woodpeckers--and probably the hemlock woolly adelgid and some wood decay fungi--felled this tree. Carpenter ants were still active in one of woodpecker holes.
We went to Dairy Queen on the way home.
