Movie Review
Here's my Netflix review for District B-13, An acrobatic martial-arts French buddy action futuristic dystopia movie. Recommended if you liked "Brotherhood of the Wolf," "Unleashed," all of Jackie Chan's movies (despite their terrible plots and awful dialogue), and John Carpenter's action movies:
This highly entertaining movie is also highly derivative. Imagine "Escape from New York" remade as a Jackie Chan movie with an all French and Algerian cast. The fight scene between the two heroes, from "They Live," is in there, as well as nearly every cliche from every buddy action movie ever made. Still, the stunt work is amazing, the pace is quick, and though the ending is corny, I was still trying to catch my breath at that point.
