I saw one of these at dusk by the Museum of Science one time. I saw it near the back of the parking garage, where there is a cement... um... dock sort of thing. I tried to take a picture, but it came out like crap due to the low light situation.

I love these guys! So pretty and they look like they oughta be rarer than they apparently are (Hey, I was excited the one time I saw them- there was a huge flock of em on the Cuyahoga over in downtown Cleveland). What a cool name, anyway, and their faces are just plain striking.

i have a friend who gets herons in her garden in florida (must be nice...). she says they LOVE turkey dogs. i've always found this far more amusing than i probably should.
