I've noticed that many places, usually coastal, have locations that they call "
Land's End" or even "World's End." I've been lucky enough to visit some of these with my Dad. Yesterday we went to
World's End in Hingham, Massachusetts.
A large part of World's End is a tidal saltmarsh. The tide was out, but visibly returning, when we arrived.
This
Reservation is popular with birders. Beside these cormorants, we saw great egrets, tree swallows, American black ducks, a small hawk, and many woodpeckers. Birders come here for shorebirds and others.
The views are pretty great, too.
Charlie liked the relatively warm water. (Strictly an on-leash place.)
On our way out, that salt marsh was plenty full!
