Let's leave the selfie behind and look at a lovely lunch in the butterfly pavilion.
A surprisingly beautiful mid-October day in the Butterfly Pavilion. The exhibit is closed for the season--we have less staff to supervise it, and most of the exhibit animals have run out their life span. There were some swift-moving butterflies about, but none posing for the camera. What's that at the opposite of the pond?
It's four of our finest zoo men (males are in the minority at the zoo) engaged in lunchtime chess!
Other zookeepers sit on the ground to chat and eat.
Or walkabout to look for the last few butterflies.
We find that a Chinese mantid has deposited her eggs!
