I can't believe I'm still posting vacation pics from July 5th. I may never catch up. Anyway, after my meeting in Reading, we headed west and stopped at Clevedon, a town in England across the Severn Estuary from Wales. They have walled off an artificial lake at the beach, and here my brother is standing on the wall:
Clevedon Pier is in the background, not that we knew that at the time.
From up on a nearby hill (Church hill or Wains hill, apparently) we could see a burying ground.
And the little church associated with it.
Also up on one of the hills I found this intriguing public art.
"Poet's Walk" encircles the hills.
From Poet's Walk we could see the donkeys.
Also a black ladybird beetle.
Severn Estuary has the second most extreme tides in the world.
Which makes for vast mudflats.
