Well, I finally did it. It took me 21 years. But I finally found gold at Sovereign Hill.
For the non-Victorian among us, Sovereign Hill is an oldey-timey historical park where the Australian gold rush is reinacted by people in entertaining costumes and with real gold to be panned (although only in tiny flecks) and shops and a replica mining camp and mines to go down and bla bla. It's heaps of fun and Kat, Asmelia and I (and Katesh in spirit) went there for Kat's mystery birthday surprise.
We went gold panning - lots - and it was finally fun. I've never previously got the appeal, but that's likely because I've never reaped any kind of reward. All I've got before was sore knees and a sore back and freezing fingers. Now I have a little bottle of dirty water and gold, and a sore back and sore knees, and lots of Chinese tourists have photos of me, for some reason.
I managed to rip my pants pants impressively down the inside seam almost as soon as we got in, which gave the crouching down to pan gold experience a whole new dimension. We also dipped candles which was fun, and looked at interesting stuff, and ran away from children and tourists and tourist children, and gold panned some more. Kat and I also went on a self-guided mine tour. I did it at the start of the year, and with an entire tour group, it's vaguely spooky. However, it was just Kat and Asmelia and I to start with, and it was fucking terrifying. Amelia freaked out almost immediately so it was just Kat and I in the dark, and man it was scary, but it was so. much. fun. Forget any ghost train - scariest amusement park experience ever.
I think we should all go often, so we should get a

Annual Report (WOO the annual report)
Anyway, so it was fun, today I have sore legs. But not for the same reason as Asmelia.
My sinuses have fucked up, again. Today was my first day of school swimming and i already hate it. I also went to my first sex ed class and it was hilarious. Then I came home and my James Joyce essay was back, I got 68% credit (which she had MARKED DOWN from 71%) and she clearly hadn't got it. I also got another fucking final notice on my mobile bill I'M SO SICK OF FINAL NOTICES and they're trying to charge me $100 more than they should be. I'm SICK OF THIS GAME.
