The closed captioning eventually said "salivate" as well, but the captioneer tried "Salman Rushdie" first.
... Which kind of makes me wonder if some captioning systems rely on macro expansions. Maybe the captioneer thought "sal" would expand to "salivate" but was just as surprised as I was when "Salman Rushdie" popped up.
