The kibologists have been talking about The Laugh-Out-Loud Cats comic strip of 1913, but I figured my non-kibological friends might not be aware of it, so I'm reposting the link.
Today was not enormously productive, because I found handwriting recognition software on Sourceforge that, as it turns out, does not actually work. Not sure why, but it wasted a lot of time. If it had worked, it probably would have turned out to be an unbearably slow process for what I wanted to use it for.
