Short, Shameful Review: Cleopatra 2525

I just finished watching 8 episode of Cleopatra 2525. This was one of those post-Xena Sam Raimi TV series that didn't work out. So far, what I have to say is: although the title character is cute and the quirky humor is OK sometimes, there's a reason why this show only lasted one season. It's somewhat hollow. It's like someone thought about the post-apocalypse and post-alien invasion genres, came up with a basic premise, jotted down a few tropes, and just started churning out stories, without really caring that much about what they were writing.

Probably at least a third of every episode is women grunting and doing cartwheels, accompanied by sparks and explosions. Yeah, they had that in Xena, too, but this just proves that Xena wasn't a success because of the grunting.

One thing I like is the holograph wrist displays. They should do more of that.
