Happy Belated New Year

I  know I owe this thing a post.  It's just that . . . . I was never a fan of those LJers who used their LJ to post constant whining, and I'm afraid if I posted more at this time in my life, it would sound like I was constantly whining. In a nutshell, same job, still ridiculous hours, both parents now going down hill equals a level of  stress that leads me to days where I feel I just can't do it all anymore, and I know it's not going to get any better - only worse. So I found and went to my first caregiver support group this week and had my first appt with a shrink today trying to find a way to deal with all this, and what I heard was so overwhelming that it's going to take some time to process.

I felt bad at the support group because everyone was supposed to share their situation, I was asked to go second, and the whole thing then focused on me for the remaining 1 hour and 20 minutes out of an hour and a half.  I thought all of our stories would be similar, but some even thanked me for coming because suddenly felt they didn't have it so bad.  Yikes.  All those who were regulars were giving me advice (some of it tough to hear,  but necessary), several even came over to give me hugs at the end,  and one gave me her card and told me to  call or come visit her and her husband anytime I felt I needed support.  Apparently, I have reason to be at my wits end and I'm not just being a big baby.

I will try and post more detail soon, but really, it's all just too much to process right now. So in the meantime . . .

I thought this was pretty fun.  http://names.whitepages.com/first/Russ   It tells you how prevalent your name is in the U.S. and what states have the most.  My name is actually Russell, but no one has ever called me that except people I’ve met who decided  they wanted to call me Russell until I  told them to knock it off. I’m not a formal name kinda guy. I never understood the whole gay thing of people going by Nicholas or Richard or Alexander.  I’m a Nick, Rich or Alex kinda guy.

But I digress  . . . .

I found it interesting that my name is MOST prevalent in (insert drum roll) Montana.  Followed by S. Dakata, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, and Nebraska.  Do you see a pattern here?  LOL. Funny thing about my name is that I think most would say it's a common name, but how many of us have you ever met? I've only met one in college.  That's it.
