Brought back memories to see this yesterday.   I remember going to see this movie combo as a kid with a big school group.  I guess it’s all about Harry Potter now.

Long time friends are the best. My two best friends, Jason and Mike I have known since I was in preschool. We met on the playground the first day of preschool and we all lived on the same street and we couldn't be separated since.

I still see them at least once a week. it's not even like we are friends. Its like we are brothers really. I can honestly say that in my 32 years of life, i have...at the very least...spoken to both of them on the phone at least twice a week for the past 29 years.

No that we are adults, we definitely make an odd trio. Jason is a construction worker who really fits that stereotype. He's rough around the edges and kind of aggressive. Mike is a competitive bodybuilder and own a couple of MaxMuscle chains. They are both straight. And I am like however I am. But we still would rather be around each other than anyone else. There is something about knowing people for that long that is so strong.

Jason's wife actually calls me her brother in law. lol

If you move to Stanford, we will have to meet up. I am am there typically once every three months.

I have some even older friends, like my best friend Steve through Jr. High and high school, then on to UCLA together and finally different law schools in the Bay Area where we'd complain about how much we hated it. He's the (now) judge I mentioned recently, and there's a few others like that. But college is where I met the majority that are still in my life on a pretty regular basis. We may not see each other much, but when you all go off and live together (in dorms and apartments) starting in your teens and those are your first years of independence, you sorta grow up together and those are bonds that really still tie us together. I know that no matter what, when the chips are down, they are friends who will be there, and they know me better than most people ever will because of those living and growing up experiences that developed us into who we are today. So yeah, it's pretty cool, but something you don't really appreciate as much until you get older and see all these other people pass in and out of your life that you never thought would when you met, but ended up to have an agenda or whatever.

I didn't know you came up to the Bay Area regularly. Wherever I end up, I'l let you know.
