But I've certainly got what I need....
I've had an excellent summer so far. Miami was awesome. I got a nice tan and drank frozen daquiris on the beach everyday. It was really relaxing and definitely kicked off some fun summer antics...
Upon my return, I adopted Edith (my new kitty). She's only 9 months old and I've had her for 3 weeks now. She is such a sweetie. She doesn't do very much or get into anything...she just meows and likes to sleep next to me. I got a huge surprise on Monday when I woke up to her giving birth on my bed next to me....turns out little Edie was preggers all along and I had no idea (she only had a litter of 3, unfortunately one passed away, so she was barely showing and everyone just thought it was because she was being regularly fed)....
So now I have Edith and her two newborn kittens living under my bed. They're adorable! We're not 100% sure but we think they're both female...so I named them Hyacinth and Ramona for now. I'm going to adopt out one or both of them (depending on if I can handle more than one cat or not)...but I have to raise them first so that will take a couple of weeks....
In other news, Julianna (aka my partner in crime) moved to Kansas for her big fancy buying job at Payless ShoeSource...so we had a two-week nonstop going away party...insanity. We were in the Lower East Side one Saturday and ran into Dan....also known as little Pete from the old Nickelodeon show "Pete and Pete"....he bought us a bunch of drinks and came out with us a couple of nights (poor boy has got the hots for Jules!)...lots of debauchery and lots of drinks...it was perfect. She'll be back for business next month so I'm sure the party will continue.
Lately I've been going to a lot of BBQs...our apartment is FINALLY furnished and it's really exciting. We just signed a two year lease so I can get my NYC residency and I'm really happy/excited/proud to be a Brooklyn resident. I would never go into Manhattan if I didn't have to...Brooklyn is vibrant and energetic and hip. I'm in heaven here...plus we've got the best bars....I'm loving life...loving single life even more...and just excited to see my kittens grow and spend time with my new friends in my lovely apartment. I thought I was getting the worst karmic vibes for a while but I'm finally really content in knowing that the universe is really on my side...
Plus I delivered kittens in my bedroom...I'm pretty sure that I can handle anything after that.
Peace and love, KB
