Well... 131 hours in two week...

For the past few weeks, I have been silent on all fronts. I did not have the time to even check my e-mail at all at some points. Heck, I didn't even get to cook until this morning. So, here goes my my story of the longest two work weeks of my life.

As you know, I work for US Filter as a Plant Operator 2. I just moved to Indianapolis, Indiana a couple of months ago and before two weeks ago, it seemed that alot of guys there were hard workers and would show up every day or at least call if they cannot make it. Troy, the shift leader, asked if we all could come on Saturday because we were behind and everybody said yes. As Saturday came around, I made sure to have my gloves to make sure I didn't get frostbite again on my hands. I got to work on time and seen that Troy was already there. This was around 7:50 so I just decided to go to my station and get to work. Now, as a Plant Operator, the hours tend to go quickly. So, when I looked at the clock and seen that it was already 10:30 and nobody had shown up, I found that a bit strange. Then, when I seen Troy looking mad as heck, I knew nobody was going to show up. I was proven wrong when Rick showed up at 11:00... too bad he left at noon! After a few more hours, Troy checked the numbers and said they we needed to work on Sunday... I was not happy about that. So, for the first time in my life I worked a Sunday... I was tired because I planned my week by sleeping for 12 hours on Sundays, so when we got off a 6:00 PM and had to be in by 7:30 AM the next day, I knew deep in my heart that it was just the beginning.

Monday rolled around and I was sleep working at this point. At 3:00, Steve, the plant manager, decided to have a word with everybody about them not showing up. Then, after the meeting, he talked to me in priviate that it was not ment for me and that he will make sure that it will never happened again. As for the orders, we were WAY behind. Too bad none of the other people didn't feel like staying past 4:00... assholes...

For the next two weeks, I was lucky to get off at 5:00 PM. I was getting off at 8:00 PM most of the time, a couple of times 10:00 PM, and one time 11:00PM. I also worked another weekend to boot.

So, this past Friday, Troy passed my time sheet and I just signed it without looking at the time. Then Jeff came by and said that Troy forgot to add three hours to my sheet and it came out to 131.5 hours... I just beat the record for US Filter for most time for a hourly worker... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
