SingTel presents ZoukOut 2008!
SATURDAY 13 DECEMBER 2008, SILOSO BEACH @ SENTOSA, SINGAPORE
Sundown, So Good! - ZoukOut extends its hours
In fitting with the golden theme, ZoukOut’s opening hours will be brought forward by 2 hours to 6pm to capture the sunset and include the best acts to suit the precious sundown hours.
Carnival rhythms, fused with contemporary sounds, an 8 piece band and an 80 strong percussion team make up the rousing act Bloco Singapura + NovoBloco. After an unforgettable debut at The Night Festival in July 2008, the act is back to open ZoukOut and set the mood for the mesmerizing and oh so seductive French collective, Nouvelle Vague. With their cover songs from the 1980s New Wave and punk era, the bossa-inspired, beautifully rendered remakes of tunes such as Joy Divisions' Love Will Tear Us Apart and The Clash's Guns Of Brixton will send waves across the beach.
A relative newbie but no less a force to be reckoned with is none other than Dragan Raganovic, otherwise known as Dirty South. His meteoric rise is no fluke as he’s a prolific producer whose big room electro party tracks find favor with the world’s biggest DJs like Laurent Garnier and Francois K. His uncanny remixing skills have seen him giving the golden touch to artistes from Tracey Thorn and Tiesto to the Pussycat Dolls and even Snoop Dogg. If anyone can bring the party to fever pitch it’s Dirty South.
Dance music pioneer, stadium filler and “Son of Man” (as he was one time known as), Sasha returns to ZoukOut after a 5 year hiatus. A hectic tour schedule, on-going production work on top of running his new label “emFIRE” is how Sasha stays ahead of the game and continually stays in the Top 10 DJ list. Seamlessly creating intricate soundscapes whilst keeping the groove and rhythm, Sasha’s inimitable DJing style is something to behold.
