There were some other thoughts here. They are now gone. Other than it's really flipping cold outside and I don't like it. Also Cybermen are really creepy.
Anyways.
Came up with a Kingdom Hearts AU today. Seems that's where my brain is right now, with Kingdom Hearts.
Partially inspired by Robert Louis Stephenson's Treasure Island, and developed while I was surprisingly not bored in my Pirate literature class.
Roxas is the youngest son of a merchant turned aristocrat. He's not very happy with his life at home, being the youngest and not getting the same kind of attention as his brothers, Sora and Ventus. On a trip to Bristol, Roxas runs off and gets a job on a merchant vessel, going off to sea to start a new life. After a week of being out at sea, they are attacked by pirates. Roxas is forced to join the crew, since it's a better option than dying. While onboard, he befriends a pirate named Axel and begins to adjust to his new life. Adventure happens, ships are plundered, Roxas discovers a stowaway named Xion and she becomes part of the crew. A few years pass, and then one day when they plunder a merchant vessel, Roxas is pretty much face to face with Sora.
That's as far as I've gotten really. Most of Organization XIII are the pirates (Xigbar is the first mate just 'cause), I think Namine has been set up to be Roxas's betrothed. There will be buried treasure in here somewhere. I'm contemplating turning this into a fanfic.
