So,
I did this whole books thing. It's under a cut. Because cuts are cool. That sounded well lame.

On the other hand, am halfway through 100 Years of Solitude and it's great... crazy but great. :)

I'm also a bit put off by the fact that they struck Raymond E. Feist from the list and replaced him with Niefenegger (surely a made-up surname) and, pardon the french, sodding Memoirs of a SODDING Geisha. Poorly written trash, really. And I should know, I read a lot of science fiction (I read a book that consequently had the main character's name spelt wrong. He started off as Arthur, ended up as Atruth).
100 years is pretty good, but a bit of a mouthful at times. I generally find those kind of books a bit... well, I'm not a fan of fiction set in real-life, seemingly. I fell asleep trying to read all those classics so many times. I managed to chew my way through the Catcher in the Rye, but that's about it. Modern classics haven't got enough swords, dragons and/or laser guns :D

LOL, Atruth. He should've stuck with that from the beginning. It's kind of neat.
100 Years is pretty interesting... in that it's more or less believable, but then a dead gypsy ghost will turn up somewhere out of the blue. I like the approach it takes to itself. There are times it reminds me of ADA by Nabokov. I loved Catcher btw, haha. Laser guns and dragons don't always guarantee a good read!

As for Catcher I never really got the big woowoo about it (woowoo is a real word!). It's alright, but I don't think I'd read it again. Not enough laser guns :P
Have you read anything by Dave Gorman? If not, you should. I guarantee you that you'll love every second of his books.
