I would just like to announce:
I FINISHED MY THESIS!!!
Well, I finished the draft anyway. But considering I've been working on one incarnation or another for the last year-and-a-half, never completing more than a third of any one, I'd say this is pretty significant.
I emailed it to my prof last night. Still waiting for word back on things so I can get it edited and printed and bound.
I'd been sitting in front of my computer for about 5 days continuously, stopping only for naps, ramen, and hot chocolate. The final copy is due in a couple of days, and getting the draft finished is a lot like finally stumbling into a reststop bathroom after 16 hours on the road -- a huge relief.
After turning in my paper, I decided that I desperately needed to get out of the house, so I called up Anh Hai, and we met up at the pool hall. Pool Hall Girl was on duty, though Navy Girl was off that night. Anh Hai destroyed me, winning every game. Boo-urns.
PHG was covering the entire floor that night, so after close I stuck around to help her out with her side work. After we closed up, we headed down to Denny's, where she treated me to that meal between dinner and breakfast. Dinfast?
Anyway, we hung around till about 5:30 in the morning, at which point I had to stop her endless stream of talking and ask her to take me back to my car. I was about to fall asleep on the table, while she was still going at 100 miles/hour. Apparently coffee hits her with the strength of a pimp slap, except that it doesn't shut her up.
Haha, but it was fun -- I was just tired.
Anyway, headed to Austin tonight, probably for the last time for academic reasons...FOREVER! HA! WOOOOOOOO!
