1. You can type filetype:pdf or xls etc for a certain type of file. for instance, say you have a canon sure shot x100 you could type your camera brand/model and then the pdf search and bring up only pdf files about your camera

2. use the hyphen or minus sign to narrow down your information. Looking for information about jaguars for your kids report on the animal? You can type jaguar -car -football to eliminate any information about the cars and the football team.

3. Use quotation marks to find the exact match to your search

4. looking for a product and can't remember where you saw it? You can search intitle "frye boots" which will look for those words in the title of the page.

Interesting/useful things that you can do in the search field:

1: enter a math problem and google will solve it for you.
2. convert measurements for instance type cups in a liter. You can also do currency conversions by typing something like "15 dollars in Euros" to get an instant conversion.
3. track your flight by entering your airline and flight number
4. enter a tracking number to instantly track packages
5. Look up addresses by typing in someone's home phone number(not sure if I like this one)
6. type in the name of a movie and your zip code to find out where/when it's showing
7. type in a song and the artist and a playable file will show at the top of the results page.
