Kama'aina Birds

Oahu, Hawaii.

So many new species, I don't know where to start.

Sacred Ibis. Apparently someone introduced a bunch of these to 'da island and they've proliferated.

My daughter ran around for two weeks swearing these were red-headed woodpeckers, despite my explaining that the beaks are all wrong. "Well, then what ARE they?", she'd say.
"I don't know. . .", came the reply, which never seemed to convince her.

Turns out they're Brazilian Cardinals.

More installments once I get a handle on organizing my photos.
