Red tail hawk

As I was driving over Twin Peaks in San Francisco, this bird was posing for groups of enthralled bike-riders and hikers.

I got some pictures, not as good as I'd like because I kept my distance.

One cyclist didn't, and eventually the bird turned its back on us -- displaying its red tail.  After a few minutes, it took off, no doubt muttering "Paparazzi!" under its breath. (Much to my relief, actually. I'd been worried that it was injured since it just sat there for so long.)
