I was sitting on my porch surveying my urban garden when I heard a ruckus in the trees. It was, as expected from last week's experiences, Starlings mating. Luckily I had my camera on hand! If you look closely you can see her head below his. It was over after about 30 seconds and the male flew off while the female remained on her branch and preened.
I was then distracted by a possible turkey bustard a block away and tried to get a photo of that. And, while trying to get a giant bee to hover long enough for me to photograph it I noticed another Starling land on the porch above mine with straw in its beak. I was quick enough to get a picture of it and then another of it entering its urban apartment.
