I've only ever heard of jobs that offer those. Never thought I'd have one.
Got the forms in the mail today. I'm covered under the work plan as of Sept 10th. Yay. I don't know what that actually means in real terms. I have no idea what the plan covers but damn I'm happy!
I also now qualify for the RSP plan. My work will contribute equally to my contributions to a maximum of $75./ mo. So, I'll be making a $75/mo contribution, cause, hey why turn down an employer who wants to help your retirement fund? And anything more than that would be taxed and deducted from my student loans so, that's my limit.
Wow. Health benefits. Such a foreign concept. I can go to a dentist and have my wisdom tooth out now! It wont cost me $1500.00 Oh wow. I can't even imagine what life would be like without that constant throbbing pain that I've come to know over the last five years. Wow. I'm not even excited, I'm rather stunned. This opens possibilities for regular health care that have been simply unaffordable and unrealistic my whole life.
Health and Dental care should be inalienable rights. Every child IS born with that inalienable right. I believe in the welfare state. I believe in universal health care. Tommy Douglas IS THE GREATEST CANADIAN. CBC knows it. YOU know it.
