I found myself at an Anime Convention lastnight/this morning. Of all the strange things...
Went down to Seattle just cuz, to visit my friend for the evening. We happened to pick the weekend of an anime convention and oh my goodness you can't believe the scale of it! There were thousands of them, fully attired in character, walking the streets, smoking on corners, swarming hotels, and congregating at the Convention Center. We couldn't pass up the opportunity. We didn't stay long as we'd missed registration for the evening. Went back in the morning, basically to stare - gawk, what have you, at the elaborate costumes. It was amazing. I think some of them actually live the characters.
Also got to check out Body Worlds 3 which is showing there right now. Yay! It was very cool.
Additionally, had the most expensive meal of my life lastnight. Granted it wasn't 'that' expensive, but it's a good deal more than I've EVER considered spending on a meal. It was forced upon me. I prolly would have chosen subway if the dinner arrangements were left to me. It was a very nice meal.
Oh, and whats with the U.S. border and Mexicans? I've had buses held up over an hour on several occasions due to customs attitude towards mexicans (inference). The mexican passenger always clears, indicating there is nothing illegal, terrorist, circumspect about them, but customs feels the need to hold them an hour to research their genome! *sigh* Let the poor bastard go home for easter. Sheesh.
