Video Game Theme Party
Went off smashingly.
Had about 30 people over all together. Only a few came out of character. We had Mushrooms and Flowers (Mario Bro), Princess Peach, Playmate of the year 1976 (I don't know where that came from, but damn he was funny!), Scorpion (MK), Random German (war games), Cap'n Jack Sparrow (is that really a video game?, Zombie Sanchez (resident evil), generic warrior #7 (any war game), Donkey Kong (that's right, we had Donkey Kong), Tony Hawk (not sure that one counts), a bunch of random characters I don't know, and I was Jill Valentine (resident evil).
The event was inspired by the nearly coinciding birthdays of Mr. Mexico and 'S'. A party seemed necessary as Mr. Mexico is now 21 (and American). A theme party naturally seemed the right thing to do. All and all, it was a fabulous reminder that people love an excuse to dress up silly and have fun! ...Something of a 'recompression' perhaps???
