tonight when i left christy's place i looked down the long walk
towards home instead of the normal purpley night sky of the city
a dark black pool lay to the south. with some misgivings i walked
towards it figuring it would stay in the distance and dissipate
into normal night sky as i got closer to it. it didn't. the
darkness got nearer and nearer and the air got colder and the
wind picked up, by the time i got to harbord street the darkness
was on either side of me and the trees were whispering and casting
leaves all about me. in the darkness i walked past two different
versions of myself one girl a teenager with brown hair and almond
eyes the second a little girl, they both held my gaze with eyes
like mine and our heads turned to fallow each other as we past.
