I have noticed a couple of things since I have to come to the U of I. Mostly these are things about Lincoln, which doesn't really make sense because you wouldn't think I would notice something about a place unless I was there. I guess I have a special power or something. The majority of people that go to school here are from the suburbs of Chicago. Very few are from anywhere else. So I guess something I've come to appreciate about Lincoln is that though it is a small town, I like the feeling of a small town. I like the feeling of the church in my small town, where everyone knows everyone and everyone is pretty nice to everyone. I like that. I don't think it's not like this in the suburbs, but I know I wouldn't have experienced a lot of things if I lived in a suburb. Like the fact that I know what a silo is, what a John Deere looks like, and that corn is grown for more than one purpose. I don't know how to say what I'm saying. I just felt like writing a meaninful entry for once instead of the random little blurbs I usually have. I skipped my History lecture today, and I plan to do so for the the rest of the semester because it is worthless. That is one of the joys of such a large school. In a lecture with 300 people, they'll never know I'm gone. Good stuff. Basically, the bottom line of this entry is that people from small towns have different values and morals than those of the suburbs. I already knew this from personal experience, but only had to experience it about once every three months. Now I am surrounded by the blinding neon signs. IDK. This is a completely random entry. But then again, EVERYTHING IS RANDOM. Isn't it?
