Went to Hong Kong with my parents last weekend. Had a great time, ate lots, and really tired now that I'm back (need to walk a lot in Hong Kong, no wonder they're all slim!) and it's work day the day after I went home(should have taken another day off...but that'd be too greedy!).
*First Day
[On the way to the destination]
[First Meal on the plane(even though we did just eat breakfast:P)]
[Hong Kong Airport]
[Airport subway]
[In the station hall]
[Sight-seeing]
Hong Kong is...very crowded, has LOTs of people, more so than any big city in Taiwan I've seen, but considering that it has over 7 million residents plus the tourists all over the world on an island of merely 1104KM2, especially it's Halloween month, it's not really a surprise.
While Taiwanese prefer motorcycles, Hong Kong people choose public transportation(No wonder with so many buses running around on the streets the air is still fresher then in Taipei)
Hong Kong's 7-11, looks more cozy than those in Taiwan.
We stayed in Hotel Hong Kong Newton, which stands on Kowloon (I don't recommend this hotel to first timers to Hong Kong, the room is clean, the view is okay, but it's way too afar from downtown, good thing is that Hong Kong has an convenient subway system and other public transportation.)
Most of the time, we kept walking, that helped with the amount of food we put down.=D (Dragging my mom along was a pain in the ass, she whined every half an hour that her feet hurt and she was tired, but Hong Kong is no Taipei, there wasn't such thing as free seats anywhere! What a shame, so everytime we wanted to take a break to rest our feet from all the walking, our wallets suffered.:D)
Mostly we traveled by subway(I did my homework before coming here, planning the routes and marking the shops and places I wanted to go, I didn't even plan anything the time I went to LA all by myself. Wish I could tell you all that it helped, but truth is that I was unable to find most of the shops I had planned to go.T_T), it's great that almost all of Hong Kong's famous spots have subway system, especially for us tourists.
This streetcar looked like the one I saw in San Francisco.
Hong Kong's Time square
I took picture of this ad for one reason only- because my brother likes the girl in it.
Later we went to the Ocean Park(I got the wrong ticket which was for daytime only and we got there at 17:00pm, only one hour left for us.:>"
They decorated the place with Halloween stuff, and kept broadcasting special sound effect.
PANDA! PANDA!*squeal*
I found this picture to be really creepy.:P
Later we went to Wan Chai, we had no idea that it is such an...erotic place.(This was the first time I saw streetwalkers, aside from movies)We had dinner here.
[Food]
Hong Kong's most famous stuff, my parents and I were totally dazed by it's variety in front of our eyes, and it's not like we haven't seen all kinds of food before.
[Lunch]
Mom's order, she complained about the taste of this special type of noodle, she is picky, I liked it enough.
My dad ordered this:
I ordered this, yummy~
[Dinner]
[Desert]
I need to break this into two parts, I took too many pictures in Hong Kong.:P
