Gears of War 2
I finally finished playing through Gears of War 2 yesterday. I still like this game series and started the second one again two days ago. I like the story, I like the aesthetics, even if it's brown and grey. I like the cinematic experience of it. The controls are still a shooter on a console, but it's not as bad as I remember.
So when Gears of War 3 comes out next year, I'm going to get it.
The characters are amusing, and I hope there's more character development even if it's just the characters talking as I'm running to cover to blind shoot some grub over a wall before jumping over it and using the chainsaw bayonet to cut the grub in half. I like how the characters are survivors and there's not a lot of bullshit. I like how the character reactions are the same as what I'm thinking.
I like the orchestration in the soundtrack, the sound design is excellent.
I have to say it again, I like how the game looks, just like Fallout 3 it's very drab, it's not colourful, but that adds to the atmosphere for me considering what's going on. I think the drab colours need to be done, but I don't think the game would be as immersive if it had neon orange and pink everywhere.
