YES. They rip open the wounds, they make it hurt. But that's only the first half of it for me. I love also how they don't just end in a sort of solipsistic pain-brings-pain-the-end story, but they use that pain to grow from it. And that pain helps crystallize who they are, who they were, who they're trying to be. It's the sort of pain that ultimately brings clarity.
Buffy beats Spike up because she doesn't know how to beat herself up [adding] with her fists
She can't beat herself up literally and she can't dance herself to death. She can't really solve much of anything with her fists this season. Not triumphantly, at least. Buffy has to make her internal feelings a reality, has to embody them in action, and Spike as the means of her self-hatred, but also her yearning to feel alive.
Haha, I could go on and on about them forever (for example, "I can be alone with you here" aka Spike has no reflection because he is the reflection and getting a soul is about winning back his own independent substance).
In a world where I have ships, Spike/Buffy is my OTP.
NOOOOOOO I WAS GONNA USE THEM FOR THIS DAY. *pout*
Ladies and gentlemen, this is what a good ship should do: it should take the characters to places nothing else can take them. PREACH. S6 will forever be some of the absolute best fucking ship dysfunction in television history. SORRY NOT SORRY.
Also you chose the best and (some of) my favourite quotes. <<<<333

This. Though I can't decide if it's the metaphorical or literal nakedness that I like best. *iz shallow*
