Day 12: The ship you love for the power difference.

I actually have no idea what to say about this ship without stating the obvious. So let me state the obvious, it will be fun!
I don't normally like power imbalance, but I love it when it comes to Damon/Katherine, because the power imbalance is the actual point, heart and God knows what else of this relationship. Damon only loves women who could break him in two, and he submits to them, lets them shape him like they want him. For Katherine, he is a priviledged boy, a little like those who treated her like a pawn, so she makes him into a monster. He's a boy she could've loved when she was human, but now she gets to watch how beautifully he breaks. He's a boy who has this deep faith in love she once used to have, so she makes it burn in his hands. For Katherine, having power over Damon is simultaneously destroying the self and reclaiming the self. He's the most important symbol and the most insignificant toy. She leaves him behind for a century and a half, but then saves Klaus's life to save Damon's. She has so much power over him it bores her, but his submission is what makes him special. She kinda looks down on him, but she can't not appreciate how intelligent he is.
