Since last week it turned out you guys don't really need me to say anything in my episode review, because a single owl photo speaks volumes, I figured I should keep it up :D.
Exactly! Also, can we please talk about how Damon AGAIN got there too late to rescue her, but he got to pick up the pieces, AGAIN, because this is what he does?
I couldn't find any owl pics that express my feelings, so I'm going to use Ian's face in another form:
Maybe Damon would get the privilege of actually rescuing her if he ever listened to her. Were you not outraged by the Bros. Salvatore arbitrarily deciding one of them will leave town after she said she doesn't want to lose either of them? Also, sometimes I straight up HATE Stefan. It's hard, and I try to ignore it, but sometimes it just can't be ignored, no matter what I do!
I probably would be outraged if Damon wasn't so "Yeah, whatever..." about it. When push comes to shove, Damon won't leave. Stefan might, Damon won't. Also, I LOVED IT how Damon is at ease and casual with this whole "choice" thing. Like he thought the triangle business was just some teenage drama. Like Stefan is missing the point. It seems to me that Damon thinks Elena is not going to make any kind of choice for a long while. She needs them both as friends right now, and in that way, she can have them both. Damon is good at being Elena's friend. His love for her is based on friendship. Elena's officially accepted him as a friend (and it's much more meaningful for Damon than for a modern guy - or, at least, I have a theory about it), and she can't lose him. So the whole triangle melodrama is artificial for Damon, and he can promise Stefan whatever to placate him, but if Elena surprises him and actually chooses, he will send the whole agreement to hell and be a friend.
I might or might not be crazy in love with how Damon doesn't pressure Elena to choose, and it's not because he's pathetic and he's living on scraps, but because he's genuinely content with how things are developing.
Hm, let me guess...this?
