FINALLY the Steam-Powered Drawing!

Feb 01, 2011 19:47

So, before we get into more steam-powered meatiness (goodness, but that sounds ...interesting), I'd like to announce the winners of the long-anticipated jewelry drawing. I am so very sorry that this has taken longer to do than I expected. My out of state move ended up pretty much eating all my time from late December to ...well, now. Nonetheless, I know there's no excuse and that this wasn't cool. I take full responsibility for the delay and deeply apologize.

So without further ado, our winners are:

For the necklace based on "Suffer Water": seismickitten!

For the necklace based on "To Follow the Waves": ambelies!

I also did a drawing for two additional neckaces, both of which are based on the Rachel M. Brown story "Steel Rider". The winners of these beauties are:

unhappytriad and ashnistrike. Pictures of these are forthcoming since I accidently left both back in Utah :(. Sorry, you two. I'll get them shipped to me asap so they can be shipped to you.

Congratulations! Please email me your shipping address so I can get these out to you :)

Moving on, I also wanted to let everyone who preordered the book know that your books are in transit to me and I'm expecting them any day now. I didn't realize that I wouldn't be able to place an order for them until just before the book went live, so that's why you'll be getting them a little bit later than I expected. To make up for this, I'm putting everyone who preordered the book into a special drawing for one of two more necklaces. I will be announcing the winners of that drawing here tomorrow--if only because I have to photograph both pieces and I have to go through my huge pre-order list to get everyone's name ;).

As another consolation, I've also got Tara Sommers to sign her story for you. I'll also be entering all of you, regardless of when you preordered Steam-Powered into a drawing for a goodie bag for Steam-Powered II, which will be out later this year. Again, my deepest apologies for the frustration and inconvenience. I'd never done preorders before this book, and next time I'll have a better idea of how to keep this going smoothly.

Now, for those of you who didn't preorder and still want the book, I have a favor to ask. Since January 26th, Steam-Powered has done pretty well on Amazon for a small press release; whenever I check its rank is usually hovering between 125,000 and 260,000. Yes, not as strong as a big press anthology, but pretty good. But I think it can do better. I'd like to see the book get into at least 20,000, and I know it can go even higher--remember, the higher it gets, the more people pay attention to these awesome authors and their stories, which I really believe are some of the strongest I have ever read.

So, where do you come in? PLEASE retweet the book's Amazon link, blog about it, and review it! Said link is: http://www.tinyurl.com/steampoweredbook. If you got a review copy from me last year and haven't yet blogged about it, doing so this month would be incredibly helpful. If you want to review it and don't have a copy, it is never too late to ask me!
