I just test drove a 2006 Saab 9-5 coupe. Adreneline explosion!
I cranked that motha around the airport backroads and it never missed a beat. It screams.
Now, get this car lovers......with the turbo, it fires off 258 ft-lbs of torque, ...not at 5000 revs, not 4000 revs, not 3000 but at just 1,900. The power is there when you want it, in the lower range. When you pile around a corner too fast, the rear wheels actually angle out up to 7 degrees. It will overdrive the turbo for 20 seconds when you 'metal' it. Now that is moving.
The interior is beautifully centred around the driver. The glove box is air-conditioned if you want, for drinks. The wipers come on when rain is detected. The rear view mirror darkens by itself. The front seat detects your weight and adjusts the position and also the mirror positions. You can also downshift with the automatic, using paddles on the steeringwheel.
It's like driving a monster, which likes you, and does just what you want. What a class act.
