Last night, stuck inside from the off and on rain, I stayed glued in front of the television. The history channel was showing all they're episodes of the recently found never before seen World War II coverage shot by journalists in France, Germany and Japan (and islands surrounding Japan). Thid footage was absolute compelling to say the least. Shot in color, there were virtually no damaged reels and the quality was unbelievable. Just to see all the civilians that got caught in gunfire, hit with airstrikes was shattering. You felt so bad for these people. I would have to say out of all the film shot, the most disturbing was the concentration camp reels. I will never forget seeing that. People left to starve, worked to death, then burned or buried...Just the scene where the Nazi soldiers where picking up the arms and legs of starved women and children and throwing them in pits by the dozen like bags of flour...it has changed me forever. You cannot ignore something like that. I mean, I knew it was bad, but fuck.
