Great News on Sony XCP recall!!!
While out and about doing some shopping the opportunity to check on the CD stocks at several retailers presented itself. For the most part, retailers have flushed the vast majority of the contaminated back to Sony. The nice lady at the Best Buy on Apalachee Trail in Tallahassee said they "pulled them all" early last week.
It turns out Walmart's music stock is maintained by an outside vendor. The vendor did an admirable job of purging the infected stock from the store in Thomasville, GA, leaving only two copies of Switchfoot's "Nothing Is Sound" CD. Out of the thousands of CDs Walmart stocks, missing a couple of the infected CDs isn't bad. I'd probably miss a few more then two.
I'm off to hang some insulation and get all scratchy.
