You know, usually I can at least understand the motive behind things, even if I don't agree with them. But this one's got me stumped. Bankruptcy? I have NO idea!

Sony was getting some of your equipment business?

I'm sorry.

I have no love of Sony gear. Back when I was working semi-professionally, the Sony shit was what always broke on us at the worst times.

As of now the industry standard for the networks is the Sony Beta SP tape format. All of the decks in our trucks are Sony and about two thirds of the of the broadcast news cameras are Sony with the other third being Ikegami.

In the older two trucks all the monitors are Sony. The newer truck has Ikegami 9" and 15" CRT monitors and Marshal LCD monitors. The LCD monitors are for confidence only. The don't have the resolution for true quality control. The Ikegami monitors are pretty sad in comparison to the Sony's. Sadly, Sony quit making the monitors we used to use.

The Sony broadcast gear (not their industrial line) has always served us well. If it did not, it would not be the network standard.
