Okay Microsoft, this is WAR!
Ft. Myers, FL - My new computer is butting heads with my very old, but bought and paid for version of Microsoft Visual Studio 97. It apparently has something to do with the subtle differences between Windows XP Home and Windows XP Professional. A search on the net nailed down these problems to patches in Visual Studio 97 Service Pack 2 and/or 3.
Okay, pain in the ass but I can download a service pack and install it.
WRONG!
Those service packs have all been pulled of the M$ web sites and mirrors. I can't even order the damn thing and pay for it.
Those low life slime balls at Microsoft obsoleted my really expensive piece of software and I don't have the money to buy the latest and greatest .NET garbage nor do I have the time to invest in learning a whole new language. If I were going to do that you can bet your ass that it would be C or some other non-M$ exclusive development package.
So now I am pleading with all my techno-friends out there. Please dig through your old CDs, hard drive files, etc. See if you have Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3 for Visual Studio 97 laying around. Ask your friends.
Sadly I don't have 72 virgins to offer up in thanks. However I would be willing to cover postage, the cost of a CD and something your trouble. I would also provide an FTP sight if bandwidth is not a problem.
