There's a new link on the link list. Marc "Animal" MacYoung and his wife (my former editor) Dianna Gordon have put together a web page on self defense called
No Nonsense Self Defense. Both have been involved in martial arts, self defense and other mayhem for a very long time.
Dianna is an extraordinarily good writer and editor. It is solely through her fine editing and guidance that I owe my wall full of awards from the Colorado Press Association. In addition to her word smithing skills, she has a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. She now teaches both Tae Kwon Do and No Nonsense Self-Defense. I'm certain if she browses the pages of this blog, she'll give me both a beating and a serious talking to over how badly my writing skills have been allowed to rust.
Marc is the most entertaining self-defense writer I've ever had the pleasure to read. He is also one of the most prolific. He brings his hard earned street wisdom to all his work including
Cheap Shots, Ambushes and Other Lessons,
Violence, Blunders and Fractured Jaws and
Floor Fighting: Stompings, Maimings and Other Things to Avoid When a Fight Goes to the Ground. (We have got to get these two together with Sal from Aegis Consulting...)
Have a look at their site. Check out their books. If you get a chance to attend one of their workshops, do so. You will not be disappointed. I guarantee it.
All violence consists in some people forcing others, under threat of suffering or death, to do what they do not want to do.
