Ryan, Erin, and Joe all got back last week. That should definitely help keep me occupied during the week after work is over. Though I haven't really had time to be bored this summer which is certainly a nice change of pace from last summer where all I was, was bored.
Work is so much better this year. I have my own permanent desk for once. They made me move last week to a new one but it is so much better than my old one. It is right in front of the window, and I like all the people that sit around me. Not that I didn't like the people who sat around my old desk, just the people are younger and have more in common with me at my new desk. The girl Stacey who sits next to me is a lesbian indie rock chick and is pretty cool. She tells me funny stories all day.
Friday I read the whole wikipedia entry for Alexander the Great. It was really interesting but I forgot most of what I read. Its hard to take calls and learn stuff at the same time.
Fourth of July Ryan, Erin, Joe, Patrick, Sam, and Joey all came up to my place near Baltimore we made a feast of 'Burgs and Dogs on my little George Forman grill and watched fireworks at UMBC. We could see fireworks from at least four different places it was madness. I'd never really seen fireworks from a distance like that before. After the fireworks we partied at my house and Brittany and I discovered that vodka + Kool aide + Smirnoff ice triple black = crazy delicious.
Yesterday I spent like 2 hours doing dishes from the night before/that my room mates hadn't done during the week. Its rough not being there during the week because so many things don't get done that I would do if I were there during the week. We have a mountain of recycling that has been piling up over the course of our stay there. No one has bothered to find out exactly when the recycling pick up is. They asked one of our neighbors but that neighbor doesn't recycle. The Joes, Krissy, Matt Caitlin, and Emily all came up last night for Joe Wezo's birthday party. We went out to eat in the inner harbor and I bought some shirts from Urban. Then we came back and partied again Cory and Adam were there this time. We got a heiniken mini keg which was a lackluster experience.
Adam is mad at me for not spending enough time with them? I'm not really sure. I don't really know but I think me deciding I don't want to go to whartscape was the last straw. Its really not something that i want to go to though. Saturday is the only day I can go and there are only 2 or 3 bands that I want to see and even then they aren't bands that I really need to or want to see. I guess I could go sunday as well but I would miss the night shows and probably the bands that I did actually want to see. Its just going to be hot, sweaty, long, everyone will be drunk and I won't be that into it. If there were bands that I wanted to see I would go but its mostly noisy baltimore bands that don't really do much for me.
I would much rather go to siren. It would be a litte more money with traveling up there but since the show itself is free it wouldn't be that bad. I mean what 20 bucks for a china town bus ticket then some money for the subway it wouldn't be that bad. There would be more people but I don't think it would be nearly as wild plus bands I actually like and want to see.
I didn't like the new Stephen Malkmus CD when I first heard it, but I listened to it today three times I think. Its really good. I am really excited to see him at lolla in August. Hopefully I will get a chance to see him in a few weeks as well.
I'm going to go make some "Tranquil Dream" tea that Brittany gave me and go to sleep. Hopefully it will help me go to sleep. Though I've been sleeping much better lately thanks to waking up at 6am for work.
