...they have taken my paints. I had a set of very expensive oils that reacted with canvas when charmed to produce a moving picture rather like a wizarding photograph but painted, and they have taken them away. Luckily my wireless is a Muggle radio that is fixed to pick up both our and their programmes, so that remained, but they took my paints ( Read more... )

What do most people think of artists these days? I thought anyone with interesting ideas and a modicum of talent had a shot at a comfortable living, if not becoming rich as a Quidditch star.

And I still think your paintings will be better for having people doing rude and nasty things to each other inside the windows.

Ah, but they are the ones who sell out to corporate entities and end up churning out mass-produced works not for art's sake, but for money.

I got the impression that the Muggles who care most about Art for Art's sake think pretty highly of Damien Hirst. Are they dead wrong or are you swimming against the tide?

For me, art is beauty. There is nothing beautiful about a dead shark in formaldihyde.

The offer still stands if you wish, though I'm afraid that jumping to certain conclusions about my intent was wrong.
